There are many ways to find the perfect venue. Some of these space-matching platforms are active in Calgary, and most have helpful mapping tools and detailed information about each space. In addition, many Calgary organizations and hubs also offer spaces for Calgarians to book events, or offer community programming.

Local Organizations + Hubs
CADA (Calgary Arts Development Association)
- CADA offers a directory of spaces in Calgary that offer arts-friendly rental spaces. Check out their classifieds and blog posts for even more information about event, performance and studio space rental.
Calgary Public Library
- Calgary Public Library offers spaces at libraries throughout Calgary including meeting rooms, creative rooms, and event spaces. Staff will help with booking repeating uses.
- Additionally, Calgary Public Library works collaboratively with many organizations, corporations, and individuals each year to offer high quality programs and services based on the needs of the community, and varied exhibits and installations to spark the imagination. City of Calgary
- The City of Calgary has a centralized booking system for both their own City-owned spaces, parks and other amenities.
- Prior to Covid-19, The City of Calgary also managed booking for the Calgary Board of Education, the Calgary Catholic School Board and other schools. The ability to book school gymnasia may return. Check their Book A Gymnasium page for details as they become available.
- In addition, consider offering your programming through School Connections YYC. The School Connections YYC (SCYYC) framework connects schools with community-based organizations to access available space in schools for programs and services to support students and families. Organizations who are interested in participating can sign up here.
cSPACE Marda Loop
- The creative hub at cSPACE provides Calgary’s most unique indoor and outdoor event, meeting and exhibition spaces. Livestream and recording packages available in the Studio Theatre. cSPACE also offers flexible co-working space and long term studio lease options.
Evergreen Community Spaces
- Evergreen Community Spaces offers a variety of studio, performance, meeting, office and events spaces.
Federation of Calgary Communities
- Find a Community Association hall in a great neighbourhood on the Federation of Calgary Communities website.
Old Trout Puppet Workshop
- Located in the Bonnyboom building, the Old Trout Puppet Workshop is a magical collision between a scenery shop, rehearsal hall, & makerspace. can be rented as temporary studio and performance space.
YMCA
- YMCA offers a variety of well-maintained, flexible rental spaces throughout Calgary – both indoors and out. The Seton and Rocky Ridge YMCAs both offer theatre space and the Rocky Ridge YMCA offers art making studios.
Calgary Parking Event Rentals
- Calgary Parking offers over 2.5 million square feet of indoor and outdoor space for events. Ideal for fundraisers, festivals, sporting events, film shoots, farmers’ markets, car shows and more. Over 30 surface parking lots and seven parkades available to rent. Most facilities are located in the downtown core and in the inner city.

Ambrose University
- Ambrose University’s beautiful West Calgary campus features meeting and banquet rooms and a gymnasium. Ideal for conferences up to 300, or meetings as small as 10, or sporting events.
Mount Royal University
- Featuring multiple event spaces including large concert halls, banquet space, as well as smaller classrooms and boardroom spaces. Digital event packages available.
SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology)
- SAIT campus offers a unique suite of venues from traditional to contemporary spaces complete with catering and accommodations. Affordable and conveniently located close to downtown.
St. Mary’s University
- Venues include a large and medium hall, as well as smaller classroom/meeting spaces.
University of Calgary
- Thousands of square feet of multi-purpose conference space, classrooms, lecture halls, event venues and outdoor green space.
